Brighton and Hove Albion turned down Chelsea’s offer of 95 million euros for Moises Caicedo. The London-based Blues have been closely monitoring Moises Caicedo for some time and have made a substantial bid for the Ecuadorian footballer.
Recently, Chelsea made four separate offers for Moises Caided, but Brighton rejected all of them. According to journalist David Ornstein, the Blues sent a new offer for the central midfielder on Wednesday, July 27. The latest proposal from Chelsea was approximately 95 million euros. However, as reported by the aforementioned journalist, Brighton promptly rejected the offer, stating that they are seeking over 100 million euros for the 21-year-old player, and they have no intention of letting him go for anything below that price.
According to the contract, Caicedo is expected to remain with Brighton until June 30, 2027. He has represented the Ecuadorian national team in 32 games since 2020, scoring a total of 3 goals. On 1 February 2021, Caicedo joined English side Brighton & Hove Albion on a four-and-a-half-year deal, for an undisclosed fee. On 10 February 2021, he made his first appearance in Brighton’s first-team matchday squad during the team’s 1–0 away loss against Leicester City in the FA Cup, where he was an unused substitute. He finally made his debut for Brighton on 24 August, starting in the EFL Cup second round away fixture at Cardiff City, where he set up Andi Zeqiri’s first Albion goal in the 2–0 win. Caicedo opened his goal account for the 2022–23 season in his and Brighton’s sixth match of the season on September 4, with a 5–2 home win over Leicester City.
Caicedo was heavily linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea. He made 43 appearances for Brighton last season. It is worth noting that he came close to moving to Arsenal last winter, but the deal fell through.
